Surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest, Glenwood is the place to camp. We have various activities you can explore here in the surroundings of the Ouachita National Forest. We are located at the intersection of Hwy 70 and Hwy 8 in Glenwood Arkansas, adjacent with ACCESS to the CADDO RIVER, one of the best floating rivers, with class 1 and 2 rapids to Canoe, Kayak, Tube, Fish, Camp in the Natural State. With several area lakes from approx. 12 miles to Lake Greeson, and within 35 miles or less to Lake DeGray, Lake Hamilton, Lake Ouachita, Shady Lake, Little Missouri Falls, Dierks Lake. Within and hour or less radius of Hot Springs, Mount Ida, Arkadelphia, DeQueen and Mena.
Wegner Crystal Mines in Mt. Ida, AR
15 minutes away. Dig away at one of the best crystal mines in north America. This mining site has been operating over 20 years and has been visited by tourist from all over the world.
Little Missouri Falls
This beautiful area and cascade is located deep within the Ouachita National Forest, and is definitely worth the trip. There is a picnic area located here at the parking area, and access to the Little Missouri Trail, which follows the Little Missouri River, can also be found. In fact, a short hike down this trail leads to the falls viewing area.
